“How much for balloon decoration?” is the first message we get most days, and the honest answer is that it depends on five things — none of which are visible in the photograph people usually send with it.
This is what those five things are, so you can judge a quote from anyone rather than just ours.
1. The size of the surface, not the size of the room
A balloon wall is priced by the area it covers. An eight-foot backdrop behind a cake table is a different job from a twelve-foot feature wall, even in the same living room, and a ceiling installation is different again because it takes three people and a ladder rather than one person and a table.
When you ask for a quote, the single most useful thing you can send is a photograph of the actual wall with something for scale in it — a sofa, a door, a person.
2. Balloon count and size mix
Two arches that look identical in a photograph can differ by 200 balloons. An organic garland packed with 5-inch and 2-inch balloons is denser, slower to build and more expensive than a spaced arch of 12-inch balloons, even though both read as “a balloon arch” in a picture.
Foil accents — a number, a name, a character head — are priced per piece on top.
3. Helium, or not
Helium costs money and is in genuinely variable supply in India. It also stops working after eight to twelve hours.
So we use it only where it earns its place: floating clusters, a ceiling fill for a single evening. The structural work — arches, walls, columns — is built air-filled, which holds its shape for three to five days indoors and costs less.
If a quote is significantly cheaper than others, ask whether it is air or helium. If it is much more expensive, ask the same question.
4. Access, and the hour you get
Most décor in Pune goes into a flat. That means a service lift with a booking slot, a society gate pass, and often a fixed two-hour window before guests arrive.
A setup that has to be built in ninety minutes needs more people than one that has four hours, and more people costs more. Tell your decorator the window honestly — the price of discovering it on the day is worse than the price of planning around it.
5. Travel
We work out of Baner. Anywhere in Baner, Balewadi, Aundh, Pashan or Wakad carries no travel charge from us. Beyond about 20 km it does, and it should be quoted as a separate line rather than folded invisibly into the total.
What we publish, and why we do not publish a price list
We used to show tier prices on this site. We stopped, because the tiers were misleading more people than they helped: the same “themed setup” number meant one thing in a 10×12 living room and something else entirely in a banquet hall, and everybody who took the published figure as a promise was disappointed by the real quote.
So now we quote against the actual space. Send us:
- a photograph of the wall or area
- the date and the rough timing
- the venue area
- any reference picture you have saved
and you get a written figure, with the inclusions itemised, usually the same day. That number is what you pay — nothing is added afterwards.
A note on the cheapest quote
Balloon décor has almost no barrier to entry, so there is always someone cheaper. The three things that usually differ are whether cleanup is included, whether the balloons are branded-quality latex or the thin ones that go down overnight, and whether anybody comes back to take it down.
Ask about all three before comparing two numbers.
